Very coool shot, nice lines and texture.
This is where black and white really shines, without it, you wouldn't see the texture and softness of the hands and had it been color it probably would not have drawn the viewers eye quite so strongly to the hand.
The hard part is figuring out when to make something black and white vs color, sometimes it can take quite a bit of experimentation with both before your happy with one or the other... And what really bakes my noodle sometimes is when I can't decide between a color or black and white version.
