Purple Globe
I love the reflection (or is it a shadow?) that the sun creates when shining through this hand-blown glass globe. I would love to tell you that this was taken in a high-tech photographic studio, but it was actually captured sitting on the roof of my car. I set it there as I was unloading some stuff at the office and noticed the cool shadow/reflection.

I wish you would've explained whether it's a shadow or a reflection! As a painter and (new)photographer of glass, I've wondered for a long time what to call these glass shadflections!("Shadflection" just does not roll nicely off the tongue.)
Seriously, I think it's a combination of the two. Shadow where the globe blocks some of the light, and reflection where some its color and shape is cast upon another object. Whew! I'm glad we got that settled!
A shadow is when an object blocks the path of the light. A reflection is when the light path angle is changed. So, this is a partial shadow, since the light is shining through it with certain frequencies being blocked.
A reflection would be if the light is bouncing off the surface. For example, an upside down mountain image in a lake would be a reflection.
This pic is sweet.
Beautiful photo.
I love it....perfection!
Nice Job as always Rich.
