A number of years ago, a friend's son asked him "Dad, what were those big, black CDs called?" And he was born about '80. Wonder if in 10 years Sarah will be asking you "What were those silver disks called?"
I have heard more than once a young person refer to CD's as "that music on a movie disk". At least I came along after the prevalence of the reel-to-reel medium :)
I think the best part about this photo is the way the earbud wires snake down to the iPod, and then fade away behind it. Great use of light - I didn't even know the iPod backlight could cast that much. Then again, I have a 4G monochrome iPod.

Now you 2 are making me feel old! My mom has some of my recitals on reel to reel.

Oh, Ricci, don't feel too bad. what you don't know is I have a reel-to-reel in the closet along with some tapes.
Rich, you young'un. Reel-to-reel is all I used for musicals when I was first running sound.

What's an 8-track dad?
