Seems like an appalling horrible lens to put on such a beautiful camera body!
That said, the resultant image is spot on and crisp - goes to show it's all about getting out and trying kit in the real world as opposed to sitting on the internet sneering at lenses!
Thanks for the comment, Pete. I keep the 75-300 in my bag as an inexpensive backup to my 70-200L. I chose to use it for the extra 100 mm reach and since this shoot was for fun I didn't mind not shooting "L" glass. It's also a bit smaller than the 70-200 and the bleachers were VERY tightly packed with spectators.
