When I first looked at this, slouching in my chair, I couldn't see any fish. I looked for the symbolism, but it wasn't there. Then I sat up. The light on my laptop changed and the glassy black surface the shoes stood upon turned into water with little fish. It was magic.
Yeah, the fish are rather subtle.

The shoes are on the feet of a teenage girl who was sitting on the dock, dangling them above the water.
Ah! I thought she was walking on water! (and that maybe you had done some layer work in photoshop)

I must have monitor problems...no matter how I tilt and turn and squint I cannot see any fish. Cute shoes though!
